What We Do

Pixel Air is a digital design and development studio based in leafy Cheshire. We specialise in creating innovative online user experiences. Put simply - we plan, design, build and market websites for businesses and individuals.

Although recently formed, we have many years of combined knowledge and experience in the new media industry having worked across a variety of digital platforms and mediums.

All of the websites we build are usable, accessible and search engine friendly and all packaged in clean and elegant design. Whether it’s an e-commerce store, blog or fully content managed site you’re after we’re able to tailor a solution to suit your needs.

Pixel Air was formed in September 2007 by Alex Peterson, who worked at the BBC for over 7 years designing products and services for the web, interactive TV and mobiles.

Freelance Web Designer Rates negotiable We are looking for a highly creative and enthusiastic freelance web designer to help out with new and exciting projects. You will bring valuable skills and fresh ideas to a young and rapidly growing company. You will be passionate about all things digital, highly motivated and have an exceptional eye for detail. You should have an understanding and appreciation of all aspects of the user experience design process. Essential technical skills include XHTML+CSS and Javascript. Expert skills in Photoshop and Illustrator a must. Preferred experience in open source CMS’s such as Drupal or Wordpress. We'll pay a competitive daily rate or agree a fixed price per project. Web Designer Internship Unpaid We are looking for recent graduates in interaction design or current undergraduate students to help out with challenging and exciting live projects. The internship will be a valuable opportunity to gain experience in the web design industry and produce work for your portfolio. You will have excellent communication skills, a highly creative flair in graphic design as well as an understanding of the user experience design process. The candidate should have proven technical skills in XHTML+CSS and Javascript not to mention highly skilled in Photoshop and Illustrator. We envision this to be a great opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic young designer to learn about the web design and development process and work with a young and rapidly growing company.
